Powers Law Group, a boutique immigration law firm led by Board Certified Attorney Ruby L. Powers, is seeking a part-time bilingual law clerk to join our team in person this fall in Houston, Texas.

About The Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented, reliable law clerk who can support our attorneys and clients, especially in family-based immigration matters. This is a great fit for a current law student or recent graduate who wants hands-on experience in immigration practice. The ideal candidate is fluent in both English and Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing), has strong research and writing skills, and has some exposure to immigration law.
Key Responsibilities
Assist attorneys with legal research, case analysis, and file organization. Help prepare and organize immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documents. Draft cover letters, affidavits, translations, and client communications under attorney supervision. Communicate with clients in both English and Spanish. Track deadlines and case progress through our case management system. Schedule USCIS interviews and other appointments. Support the firm’s work in advocacy and access to justice for immigrant communities.
Qualifications
Current law student or recent law graduate preferred. Fluency in English and Spanish (speak, read, and write). Strong research, writing, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel). Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Prior exposure to immigration law is a plus, particularly family-based cases (I-130, I-485, I-601A, N-400, etc.). Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
